I've started putting together a collated spreadsheet with references, part names and links.

This started as a Haslab Pack resource, but it has a lot of info on screen-accurate gear (including several links to this thread!)

Still a work in progress, but I'll be continuing to update it throughout the week, and possibly grant some permissions to community legends (of which I am not, but 20+ year spectator) to ensure accuracy.

You just saved me so much time. Thanks a bunch.

mburkit wrote: January 1st, 2022, 4:20 pm My second post will be about the neutrona wand. First and foremost, I want to state that FreekyGeeky/Umoribawar/RJ from our community was the individual that crafted the aluminum wands for the Afterlife production. Knowing this, I personally pulled my FreekyGeeky wand off one of my other packs, and retro-fitted it into an Afterlife wand.

Honestly, most of the wand is very similar to a traditional GB1/GB2 wand. From my understanding, the hatlights were 3D printed, and I believe the slow blo and the top blinking light appear to be LED Cliplites. I ended up using real hat lights and I eventually switched my arco-electric lamps over to Cliplites (just not in most of these photos).

The most interesting aspects of the Afterlife wand are on the front handle. There is a crooked trigger hook and the flash bulb assembly has been replaced by a car LED Back up lamp, found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R8FC6JM?ps ... ct_details. It appears they replicated Nycoil banjos ala GB2 for the wand as well.

But the thing I am most interested in and will be sharing about for the rest of this post is the shotgun foregrip. I have yet to ID the correct grip. But I have found something that I think is darn close.

This is a Golden Eagle M870 Gas Pump Action Shotgun Real wood Handguard for an Airsoft shotgun. It can be purchased from here: https://airsoftgogo.com/en/product/prod ... 0S8MReMsi0

While it can be crafted into a pretty convincing replica of what is seen on the Phoebe, as I will be sharing with your shortly, it is not exact. The ribs are a different size, resulting in only 21 ribs being present on my build (once modified) verses the 23 found on the film prop.

Once you have the wooden grip from Hong Kong, you then have to do a ton of grinding and sanding and shaping until you get something more like this:

Image

After shaping it, I had to stain it, add rivets, and weather it.

I ended up staining mine with this wood stain I had laying around from another project. I believe I purchased it from Lowes.

Here is the grip once stained.

For the rivets, I used these double cap rivets I picked up from Joann's Fabrics.
Image

I then darkened them with brass ager, which I also had laying around from a previous project.

Notice before and after the chemical bath.

After drilling holes and gluing in the rivets, I then weathered the grip. This is what I ended up with.

And how it looks with my in process pack build:

This is exactly what I was looking for! Question: did you fill in the recess on the sides with filler before sanding or did you sand as-is? It looks like sanding down those recesses would also sand away the ribs, no?

I just sanded as is. You want to sand down some of the ribbing on the side as the screen used prop appears to have pretty flat sides with the ribs really only being on the curvature of the grip.

Talyn wrote: January 17th, 2023, 1:43 pm I dont see it mentioned, what is used for the metal clamp around the breather hose?
I used an uxcell Steel Band Spring Clamp with a 26mm ID. You have to grind off the "wings" of it once it is installed.

I also found this to make the cables inside the afterlife loom which also looks like a match for the cyclotron ones maybe? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WYM5CTX?ps ... ct_details

I had this same idea about the copper wires and just stumbled across your write up.
I assume it's house wire? if so what size did you use? and was it tan colored insulation you got or black and painted it a copper color?

One time wrote: January 19th, 2023, 3:58 pm WOuld you be able to give me a tip on how to best weather the "tape" sections. I.e. the blue, red and yellow electrical tape?

Those black smudges look so realistic. How do you weather those?
I weathered my pack by dusting it with flat black spray paint then hit what I sprayed with sandpaper and steel wool.

How confident are we on the size of the spring clamps?
I am pretty confident in that size. But feel free to compare photos of my pack with the photos from Tested.

Do you know where to get the correct type? I found this but not sure if it's just the pictures and it really will be that direction: https://www.amazon.com/Black-Polyethyle ... 9GP2&psc=1

Yeah, I was informed about this last week by Austin Young. I haven't been able to source the correct stuff yet.

Why is this always the case? It's so infuriating! Why do the prop makers seem to always pick the obscure version of parts?

Good luck building everyone!
Hey Mburkit..So just a question, What type of wire and connectors did you use for the wires going to the booster tube and clippard? Colour/Gauge and connectors?

Pardon if this has already been mentioned here. But has anyone noticed that the Beamline Cap looks incredibly like a film crank you’d find on a camera?

If the part is 3D printed as rumored it must at least be modeled off of those. I’ve found some similar ones out there but the ones I’ve held have been too small. Probably a better size for a Spirit Pack. But nothing big enough for a 1:1 pack from what I’ve observed yet.

Just thought I’d share to get some extra eyes out there!

I can't remember if it was this thread, or somewhere on Facebook, but that does seem to be the consensus on what it was based on, but generally thought it was custom 3D printed like quite a few things were.

Looks like Tested pulled these images, so natural now is when I go to download them all for reference. :(

Saving from Photobucket sucks as much as usual, too, of course, even ignore the resolution hit.

Does anyone have these hi-res pics saved somewhere they could share?
