Hm. It would appear I got an LC2 frame and kidney belt, but LC1 shoulder straps.

The cool thing about the ALICE frame is that everything is interchangable. So if you have a LC2 frame, you can easily paint it black, order the LC1 waist strap and kidney pad and put it all together, all kinds of mis matching.

P.S. Thanks a lot for the kind words up there, guys.

im glad someone posted this, last halloween im on the train to NYC, dressed up, got my packs, gluing the stickers on. couldnt figure out the damn straps. We were pulling into Penn station, and this old veteran, came over and showed us whats up. if he didnt, we would have probably been sitting in the station for a while, instead of being insta-heroes the second we got there.

this is gonna help the newcomers a lot.

here here! I had mine threaded upside down and my pack went *KRASH*. Fortunately, minor damage. I made sure all 6 of them are threaded right for the movie...

Holy cow, I don't think alice frames cost over $100 new.
Ebay it, got mine for all around $20 each.

Actually I think a upsurge in orders might have pressed them to up thier prices, especially if thier stock is starting to get low.

That'd be price gouging...gotta love when a company raises prices just to abuse an increased demand. That's the kind of BS I don't respect.

I just got the 2 GB1 packs I ordered and theyre perfect! I was afraid theyd just send any kind of alice pack but its actually exactly as in the photo, correct black frame, correct shoulder and waist straps and kidney pad. Even came with the accurate waist band with the button covering the clip.

One had some stickers on it with a name, so they are indeed used, but no big deal to cleanup.

I acutally bought a Alice Pack frame from the local military surplus place. it was brand new and is completely black, frame straps and all. It ain't "movie accurate", but I never was one for the baby poop green anyway.

I think it was something like $40 when I bought it last year. I wouldn't think that a used frame would cost more than $50.

Looks like the image on their website is showing the green straps, but they had all kinds when I was there last year...

What you have is a Milspec ALICE frame. After market military style equipment is often produced in varying colors and styles.

I have 2 ALICE frames, one original LC-2 and one milspec that I got nearly 10 years ago. I thought the milspec was the same size, until I got my ALICE. The milspec is considerably shorter than the original frame, and so are the holes; so the 3/8" carriage bolts won't fit through the holes in the bottom, you need a smaller size (3/16" IIRC).

Here are some pics I took one next to the other for comparison.

Drilling a hole through the center of my new $60 frame seemed quite painful. So I just zip tied it to the board.

$60!? I certainly hope you didnt pay that much for an alice pack frame. As for no bolt through the frame, do accuracy and strength mean nothing to you?

Clearly they do, as zip ties are also accurate as the third mounting "brace" for the proton packs.
